Ruwaida, Vogue Stylist

Starting at Sassoon’s in Cape Town in the 70s, she kicked off her career in the hair industry early on. Her interest in hair beauty was deep-rooted long before this and hence she moved to Johannesburg, South Africa to pursue her dreams.

Owning her first Salon at the age of 21, meant that sacrifices were made to achieve success. Johannesburg brought new adventures and opportunities. Building strong client relationships has always been the core of her business and her passion comes through in her client engagements, and her ethos of “every client should leave visibly happy”. With over 30 years of solid experience in the industry, she could pass down her skills and passion to her daughter, Aneesa.

With a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise, she decided to move back to Cape Town. Gaining further experience at Partners Hair Design and Toni&Guy proved to be an inspiration to push boundaries and deliver creativity, quality and consistency with every client.

2009 was the year for soaring goals and courageous new journeys and opening Vogue Hair Design just felt right. Though challenging, the experience of once again building relationships with and serving Cape Town based clients has proved to be a truly gracious and rewarding one. Travelling to London to do the Vidal Sassoon course is characteristic of her eye for detail and believing in constantly growing and learning new techniques and products, and keeping up to date with trends for both herself and her staff.

Ruwaida’s enduring strength, proficiency, heart and passion for hair and her clients is truly the core of this family run enterprise.
